Institute of Clean Air Companies’ (ICAC)  offers Sen. Carper (D-DE) insights and perspective regarding the questions of labor availability and the capacity of the electric power industry to install air pollution control systems on a timely schedule and the types of jobs these installations create.
 

10/8/2010    ICAC Submits Air Pollution Control Industry Comments to EPA on the Boiler MACT

ICAC recently submitted formal comments on EPA’s proposed National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants for Industrial, Commercial and Intuitional Boilers and Process Heaters. ICAC’s fully appreciates EPA’s efforts to propose air toxic standard for the ICI boiler sector. However, ICAC expressed concerns with several elements of the proposed rule, such as the statistical methodology used to set the MACT floor. ICAC’s comments recommend the use of EPA Method 30 for mercury testing instead of Ontario Hydro. With regards to sorbent injection ICAC recommend EPA set sorbent injection system parameters based upon performance tests.

4/1/2010    ICAC RELEASES BID SPECIFICATION AND BID EVALUATION FORMS FOR ACTIVATED CARBON INJECTION SYSTEMS

ICAC’s Mercury Control Technology Division developed the Bid Specification and Information Requirements and Bid Evaluation Form for Activated Carbon Injection Systems (HG-1) document to assist purchasers of activated carbon injection systems compile information necessary to procure meaningful bids from suppliers of activated carbon injection systems.  The document includes bid specification information requirements, a bid evaluation and a sample bid specification.
