The U.S. – China Environmental Industries Forum (EIF) is a biennial policy dialogue and technical forum that operates under the U.S. – China Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade (JCCT) Environment Working Group. EIF brings together U.S. and Chinese government and industry representatives to facilitate the development of policies, relationships, and projects that advance the environmental technologies industry in China and promote trade in environmental goods and services.
The 2015 EIF will focus on the topic of Air Pollution Monitoring and will be hosted by the U.S. China Institute for Business and Law at the University of California Irvine from September 10-12 and will feature a full day of (optional) APC -focused site visits, a full day of policy and technical discussions, and a full day of business-to-business matchmaking.
Government leaders from both countries will come from the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the China Ministry of Environmental Protection. Other stakeholders and participants are likely to include representatives from sub-national governments such as the California EPA Air Resources Board and select officials from Chinese Environmental Protection Bureaus; association leaders including the Institute for Clean Air Companies and the China Association for Environmental Protection Industries; academics and experts from Tsinghua University and UC Irvine; and air pollution control technology providers (companies) from both the U.S. and China. We expect 80 to 100 government and private sector participants in total. ICAC is working with the EIF on this program and will share more information as it becomes available in early June.
