|Greenhouse Gas Division|
Greenhouse Gas (GHG) division members are on the forefront of the development of GHG control technologies such as carbon capture from flue gas. The members also have expertise in the control of other GHGs (methane and nitrous oxide (N2O). The GHG (greenhouse gas) Division interacts with the policy and technical considerations around the control of GHG emissions, including carbon dioxide (CO2).
The primary regulatory drivers for the GHG division's activity arise from the implementation of President Obama's Climate Action Plan (CAP) announced in the summer of 2013. The CAP has spawned regulatory proposals to reduce GHG emissions, including proposed rules for new fossil-fired power plants and the existing power sector in each state. The division applies its collective expertise in the submission of comments on the proposed rules.
