  • In February, 2015, ICAC released a white paper on process implementation guidance for powdered sorbents at electric generating units.  View the white paper here.

  • In December, 2014, ICAC submitted comments to the EPA on Carbon Pollution Emission Guidelines for Existing Stationary Sources: Electric Utility Generating Units.  View the comments here.

  • In August, 2014, ICAC released its 2014 Market Study.  

  • In June, 2014, ICAC released a white paper on mercury re-emission at coal-fired electricity generating units (EGUs). ICAC's Mercury Control Division developed the white paper entitled "Improving Mercury Capture Efficiency of WFGDs by Reducing Mercury Reemissions" to assist industry, state permitting and federal air quality officials in understanding the phenomenon and evaluating the technologies available to mitigate it.  View the white paper here.

  • In May, 2014, ICAC submitted comments on EPA's proposed GHG New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) for new affected fossil fuel-fired electric generating units (EGUs). View the comments here.

  • On November 25, 2013 ICAC hosted a Webinar with Thermo Fisher Scientific on Hg CEMS improvements and updates.

  • On November 15, 2013 ICAC submitted comments to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) on its proposed standard for combustible dust. At the Mercury Control division meeting at the Air Quality IX conference in October, Sheila Glesmann, Division Co-Chair, brought up the issue and ICAC fast-tracked the formation of a comments workgroup and development of the comments.

  • On October 24, 2013 Gary Guzy, Deputy Director and General Counsel at CEQ, Franz Hochstrasser, Deputy Associate Director for Public Engagement at CEQ, and Kevin Culligan from EPA’s Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards met with ICAC Board of Directors to review the goals of President Obama’s Climate Action Plan, the recently signed revised GHG NSPS proposal for new power plants, and the outreach effort for the existing unit GHG NSPS that will be proposed in June 2014.

  • ICAC submitted comments on the EPA's proposed Effluent Limitations Guidelines and Standards for the Steam Electric Power Generating Point Source Category on September 20, 2013.

  • ICAC released 2014 Air Pollution Control and Measurement Equipment Market Forecasts on September 12, 2013.

  • On August 23rd, 2013 ICAC submitted comments on the EPA's proposed Reconsideration of Certain Startup/Shutdown Issues in the MATS rule. From the administrative process perspective, this proposed rule / reopening of the comment period finishes the reconsideration of the MATS rule that resulted in EPA looking at a few issues, one of which was the change of the new unit mercury limit based on ICAC's petition for reconsideration.   • ICAC Board of Directors presents to Senior Officials at the United States Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Energy on July 31, 2013. Click here to view the presentation.

  • ICAC released "Guidelines for Specification and Selection of DAHS for CEM Applications" on June 3, 2013.

  • ICAC Released White Paper – "Guide to FTIR Technology for Compliance Testing, Performance Specification, and Continuous Emissions Monitoring (CEM) of Target Gases,” on May 7, 2013.

  • Hosted a technical webinar on "Conducting a Successful Mercury Control Demonstration Test at a Coal-Fired Power Boiler,” for state air quality personnel on March 21, 2013 with 89 participants from 16 state agencies.

  • ICAC Releases White Paper – "Monitoring of HCl” on March 1, 2013.

  • ICAC Releases White Paper: "Conducting a Successful Mercury Control Demonstration Test at Coal-Fired Power Boiler" on February 15, 2013.

  • ICAC Submits Comments to EPA on Proposed Reconsideration of New Unit MATS Emission Limitations on January 11, 2013.
